6th Annual Julius Daniels Memorial Blues Festival

Saturday, February 28, 2015 (6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M.)

The Julius Daniels Memorial Blues Festival sponsored by the Historic Society of Bamberg County is back at The Dane Theater for the sixth time. This year’s opening act is Chris Ndeti aka "Mama". In addition to performing professionally, she currently works full-time with veterans diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and is a certified Music & Memory facilitator. She was featured along side fellow Music Therapist in the 2014 August/September issue of Augusta Magazine in the article : “The Medicine of Music” and was named Augusta Magazines 2014’s Best Female Vocalist later that year. The JDMBF is extremely pleased to have Chris opening our festival this year.

Warren open last year’s JDMBF with two songs and is back with more this year. Warren is the 16 years old son of Tony and Lisa Peay. He has studied acoustic guitar for three years. He is in the 10th grade at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. Warren also enjoys hunting and drawing. He resides with his parents and younger brother Wyatt in the Colston area of Bamberg County.

While Chris and Warren are well worth the price of admission they will be followed by Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues. Mac Arnold is a South Carolina blues legend. Mac has played with James Brown, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Paul Butterfield, Elvin Bishop and John Lee Hooker, just to name a few.

Tickets for the JDMBF start at $10 Adult/ $5 Students for a seat in the balcony, and $15 Adults/$10 Students for a first floor seat (excluding the rows 1-4). Seat in the front four rows are $25 Adults/$15 Students. Platinum Sponsors get a table for eight, between the first row and the stage. To be a sponsor or for group rates (10 or more), contact Nancy Foster at 245-1000. The Julius Daniels Memorial Blues Festival is a fundraiser to establish a Bamberg County Museum.
